Job summary

Stockbridge seeks a skilled Fleet Mechanic to maintain the City's gasoline, diesel, and hydraulic equipment, including backhoes, dump trucks, pumps, generators, and air compressors. This is a fully seasoned, skilled role capable of independent repairs from routine parts replacement to major overhauls.

You will diagnose problems, perform tune-ups, replace brakes, belts and hoses, service climate systems, and coordinate with teammates to minimize downtime while upholding safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• At least 3 years of related work experience.
• Valid State of Georgia Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Diagnoses and determines the extent of mechanical problems using shop equipment and replaces or rebuilds equipment.
• Diagnoses, services, and repairs gasoline- and diesel-powered vehicles and equipment including engines, fuel systems, and brakes.
• Performs maintenance including tune-ups, inspection/replacement of brakes, belts, hoses, and tires.
• Establishes priorities and coordinates routine maintenance and repair projects; supervises safety and work quality.
