Job summary

NVIDIA is seeking a Senior Engineer for the Datacenter System Software team in Santa Clara, CA. You will design and build fleet-wide log collection, normalization, and analysis tools to diagnose hardware and platform faults across multi-rack deployments.

The role requires 10+ years in software with system software/firmware focus, strong Linux debugging skills, and proficiency in Python or Rust. You will work with diverse teams, own design docs, and contribute to open-source discussions.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in software with system software/firmware focus.
• Strong Linux kernel and driver debugging experience.
• Experience with log parsing, normalization, and schemas.
• Proficiency in Python or Rust and C/C++.
• Experience with OpenSearch/ELK stack and telemetry.
• Ability to lead cross-team initiatives and publish design docs.

Responsibilities

• Architect and build fleet-wide log collection and analysis solutions across components, trays, and racks.
• Develop tooling to normalize, time-align logs from heterogeneous sources (kernel, drivers, syslog, Redfish, SEL, firmware, BMC).
• Create a log catalog mapping raw signatures to fault classes, severity, remediation guidance.
• Develop root-cause tooling turning high-volume logs into actionable diagnoses for hardware faults.
• Collaborate with developers, SWQA, and product engineering in a fast-moving environment.
• Write design docs and own end-to-end delivery from definition to implementation.
• Perform code reviews and strengthen unit/integration tests.
• Track work through Jira and plan end-to-end execution.
