Job summary

Vibrant Ingredients in Melville, NY seeks a Sr. Buyer to manage procurement of raw materials, flavors, packaging to support production.

You will ensure on-time deliveries, quality standards, cost optimization, and strong supplier relationships while collaborating with enterprise Strategic Sourcing and cross-functional teams. The role requires a Bachelor’s in supply chain or related field and 3–5 years flavor/food ingredient procurement experience; strong negotiation, ERP/MRP knowledge, and MS

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Management, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Minimum 35 years of experience specifically in flavor(s) and/or other food & beverage ingredient procurement. Experience in manufacturing, agriculture sourcing, or packaging is a plus.
• Strong tactical negotiations and vendor management skills.
• Strong cross functional team player
• Ability to multi-task and manage high volume part numbers, low volume demand mix
• Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics 365, SAP, Great Plains) is preferred.
• Proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Excel.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Purchasing and Tactical Supplier Management: Place and track purchase orders for raw materials, flavors, packaging, and other goods; Schedule goods delivery; Collaborate with R&D, QA to match product specs and regulatory standards; Primary supply chain liaison with local manufacturing site; Negotiate terms and pricing; Ensure FDA and labeling compliance; Monitor supplier performance.
