Russell Investments is seeking a Senior Research Analyst to lead in-depth manager research across fixed income, credit, and macro strategies. You will build relationships with external managers, perform quantitative and qualitative analysis, and develop well-supported investment views for client portfolios.

The role emphasizes programming skills (Python; VBA/SQL a plus), strong judgment, and clear communication to investors and internal teams.

Qualifications

• 7-10 years of investment or related experience.
• Bachelor's degree required; a master's degree or higher is preferred.
• A degree in finance or a quantitative field is strongly preferred.
• Strong understanding of fixed-income markets, investment principles, asset classes, and financial theory.
• Experience analyzing investment portfolios, including risk attribution and performance analytics.
• Programming and data skills, including Python; VBA and SQL are assets.
• CFA or CAIA charterholder, or progress toward designation, is desirable.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and relationship-management ability.

Responsibilities

• Collect, organize, and validate data to support manager and strategy research.
• Conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis of investment managers and strategies.
• Develop and maintain relationships with third-party investment managers.
• Form research agendas for manager meetings with focused questions.
• Explain manager views and conclusions clearly to clients and internal stakeholders.
• Develop ranking recommendations for assigned strategies with supporting evidence.
• Document assessments, research conclusions, risks, and changes in views.
• Prepare supporting analysis for investment recommendations and portfolio discussions.
• Create investment research content for internal and external audiences.
• Identify opportunities to improve research methods and data quality.
• Use AI tools to improve research quality and efficiency.
