Job summary

Radiant Dev is seeking a Senior Firmware Engineer to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams designing next-generation medical devices focused on patient safety.

You will architect firmware, develop low-level drivers, lead embedded Linux distributions (Yocto/Buildroot), and build robust testing and CI/CD processes to ensure reliability in regulated environments. Experience in C/C++, Git, and QA is required.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of embedded software experience.
• Proficient in C/C++ and software design for embedded systems.
• Experience building and validating embedded Linux distributions using Yocto or Buildroot.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

• Firmware Architecture & Drivers: Design and architect next-gen firmware; develop low-level drivers for mechanical, electrical, and communication peripherals.
• Embedded Linux: Lead the creation and validation of custom embedded Linux distributions.
• Protocols & Algorithms: Develop communication protocols and assist with complex algorithm development.
• Quality & Testing: Triage field issues, automate processes, enhance unit test frameworks, and improve build systems.

Qualifications

Required

• Education & Experience: Degree in Computer Science (or equivalent) with 7+ years of embedded software experience.
• Core Languages: Expertise in C/C++.
• Embedded Linux: Proven experience building and validating embedded Linux distributions using Yocto or Buildroot.
• Version Control & Testing: Hands-on experience with version control systems (Git, etc.) and unit testing frameworks.

Preferred

• Background in medical devices or regulated environments.
• Python scripting and CI/CD experience.
• Experience with robotics, servos, control systems, or UI development.
