Job summary

Coherent Corp. is seeking an embedded firmware engineer in Fremont, CA to design and develop software for STMicroelectronics MCUs using C++. The role includes creating GUIs and testing tools in Python to validate firmware, plus using lab equipment to troubleshoot hardware issues.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, document firmware architecture, and contribute to system-level testing and validation efforts while expanding your skills in a challenging, fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• MS in Electrical Engineering or related technical field.
• 5 years of related experience preferred.
• Experience with STMicroelectronics MCUs is a plus.
• Firmware development and debugging experience is desirable.

Education & Experience

• MS in Electrical Engineering or related technical fields.
• 5 years of related experience is preferred

Skills

• Solid foundation in digital circuit design,
• Deep understanding of MCUs.
• Ability to work with little supervision and to manage assigned tasks effectively.
• Ability to learn and apply new technologies and tools to develop innovative solutions.
• Excellent interpersonal communication and presentation skills.

Working Conditions

• Good office working conditions. Occasionally required to work in a Class 10000 clean-room environment, wearing smock with mask and gloves

Physical Requirements

Able to move light equipment and tooling (<25lbs) as needed when setting up test benches.
