Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related discipline and PE license.
  • Minimum 7 years of related experience; travel may be required.
  • Experience with NFPA, UFC, and building/fire protection codes is preferred.
  • Ability to review designs for regulatory compliance and sign off on documents.
  • Proven mentoring and guidance abilities for junior staff.

Responsibilities

  • Develop fire protection designs including water supply, hydraulic analyses and detailed sprinkler plans.
  • Act as QFPE on federal projects, providing life safety and fire protection analysis.
  • Review draft designs for regulatory compliance and sign off on completed work.
  • Collaborate with sales to create RFP responses and meet client design needs.
  • Mentor junior engineers and supervise project tasks as needed.
  • Ensure firm policies are followed on all designs.
