National A&E firm needs a Sr. Fire Protection Engineer, P.E for their Orlando, FL office.
Responsibilities
- Perform engineering calculations and layout and design systems in accordance with established policies, standards, procedures, and codes.
- Apply practical knowledge and experience in the field to resolve problems and conflicts related to assigned projects.
- Make independent decisions for engineering tasks on assigned projects.
- Occasionally supervise subordinate personnel or assist other engineers or designers.
- Possess knowledge of discipline-specific codes and other building codes.
- Provide fire code consulting services, fire sprinkler design, fire alarm and detection system design, and smoke control system design.
- Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Meet with the Project Engineer and Project Manager to discuss design scope, schedule, budget, phasing, site issues, and design review issues.
- Work with Project Manager and Project Engineer to prepare design budgets and schedules.
- Estimate discipline man-hours required to complete project design requirements.
- Provide leadership and assign design job functions to designated designers and supervise their efforts in completing the project on time and within budget.
- Implement system types as selected by the Project Engineer and provide complete construction documents that match client and project team requirements.
- Review preliminary and final engineering design with other disciplines for function, clearances, coordination, and final design selection.
- Perform a final review of the engineering drawings.
- Maintain client contact.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Fire Protection, Structural or Architectural Engineering.
- Minimum 8 years of work experience and must be a licensed engineer.
- Perform quality assurance on projects in coordination with technical manager or project engineer.
- Mentor and motivate Engineering designers I, II and III.
- Set high standards, maintain professional integrity, and seek the best interest of the company and client.
- Ability to meet fast-paced deadlines while maintaining quality design.

Salary
$90,000 - $150,000 per year
