Enercon is seeking a Senior Fire Protection Engineer in the United States to provide technical expertise, ensure NFPA code compliance, and guide multi-disciplined project teams. This role features hands-on field work, design studies, sprinkler calculations, and fire hazard analyses, with opportunities to mentor junior staff.

Locations include Kennesaw, GA and Fort Worth, TX, with remote consideration only for senior principals; travel about 10% may be required to support project sites.

Overview

Join ENERCON as a Senior Fire Protection Engineer. In this role, you will provide technical expertise, ensure compliance with NFPA codes and deliver project guidance to multi-disciplined project teams. Collaborate with a diverse team, analyze hazards, develop solutions, and drive growth in our company. From reviewing designs to hands-on field work, every day brings new challenges and opportunities for success. This exciting role can be located in the following locations:

• Kennesaw, GA (Suburb of Atlanta)
• Fort Worth, TX
• Remote will be considered for Principal Engineers

Responsibilities

Our engineers have the opportunity to collaborate with interdisciplinary partners, coordinate with diverse engineering teams and ensure project success. A typical day may include developing fire suppression design studies, preparing or reviewing sprinkler calculations, performing fire hazard analyses, attending project meetings, performing a walkdown, and mentoring junior employees. We help you apply your skills and previous experience to exciting and important projects. You will also need to:

• Collaborate Across Disciplines: Since the fire protection system design can also impact the mechanical, civil, and electrical design, you will need to act as a bridge between the engineering teams, ensuring seamless integration and coordination across all project disciplines
• Shape Project Success: Provide technical guidance to project teams concerning NFPA code requirements and operational considerations. Develop innovative design studies, define project scopes, and create accurate engineering estimates to drive project excellence. Overall goal is client satisfaction and assisting in the growth in the fire protection services sector of ENERCON
• Master Procurement and Installation: Draft detailed specifications for fire protection equipment, evaluate vendor bids, and select top-tier solutions to meet project needs. Participate in reviewing and checking designs, drawings and data prepared by other engineers or subcontractors
• Think Creatively: Bring fresh perspectives and innovative solutions to solve complex technical challenges and push projects forward
• Be Hands-on in the Field: Travel to project sites, conduct walkdowns, oversee installations, and support start-up activities and testing to ensure quality and compliance
• Provide Technical Expertise: Identify the applicable design criteria in fire protection engineering. Perform work requiring the application of basic technical principles, theories, standards and concepts. This will include reading and understanding design drawings and technical specifications as necessary to support preparation of project deliverables, such as calculations, specifications, and engineering evaluations #LI-SH7

Qualifications

This position covers a range of internal levels. Minimum qualifications for our senior level position are shown below:

• Bachelor's Degree in fire protection engineering from an accredited university
• Experience in the nuclear engineering industry is required
• Minimum 10 years of experience with design of fire protection systems, fire hazard analyses, code compliance evaluations, etc.
• Minimum of 2 years of leadership experience as a manager
• Professional Engineering License is required
• Excellent writing, presentation and oral communication skills
• Ability to be an individual contributor and work effectively in teams
• Proficient in Word, Excel, HASS (or similar such as AutoSprink)
• Approximate travel of 10% as needed

Compensation Range

USD $100,000.00 - USD $185,000.00 /Yr.
