Randstad USA seeks a Senior Fire Protection Engineer for a contract role in Chandler, Arizona. Lead NFPA-based designs and AHJ approvals on high-tech and pharma facilities, driving project success with a strong technical and leadership focus.

This role requires planning and coordination of complex fire protection systems, including pumps, deluge systems, and hydraulics, while mentoring junior engineers and aligning with project schedules and regulatory requirements.

Formación

• 10+ years of work experience in fire protection systems for semiconductor, AI datacenter, or life sciences/pharma sectors.
• In-depth knowledge of NFPA standards and AHJ approval processes.
• Thorough understanding of mechanical codes (ASME, IBC, IMC, NFPA) and subcontract management.

Responsabilidades

• Independently plan, schedule, and coordinate detailed mechanical and fire protection engineering phases for semiconductor, AI datacenter, and life sciences projects.
• Specify fire protection systems, including sprinkler selection, fire-water pumps, storage tank capacities, and hydraulic calculations to size headers.
• Prepare equipment specifications, material requisitions, technical bid evaluations, and award recommendations while managing engineering subcontracts.
• Coordinate engineering efforts between specialty groups, clients, suppliers, contractors, and AHJs to secure system approvals.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to designers and drafters while supporting internal engineering procedures and standards.

Responsibilities

• Independently plan, schedule, and coordinate detailed mechanical and fire protection engineering phases for semiconductor, AI datacenter, and life sciences projects.
• Specify fire protection systems, including sprinkler selection, fire-water pumps, storage tank capacities, and hydraulic calculations to size fire-water pipe headers.
• Prepare equipment specifications, material requisitions, technical bid evaluations, and award recommendations while managing engineering subcontracts.
• Coordinate engineering efforts between specialty groups, clients, suppliers, contractors, and relevant regulatory authorities (AHJs) to secure system approvals.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to designers and drafters while supporting internal engineering procedures, design guides, and standards.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (or international equivalent) with 10+ years of work experience in fire protection systems within the semiconductor, AI datacenter, or life sciences/pharma industries.

In-depth technical knowledge of fire protection equipment (pumps, storage tanks, deluge systems) and design standards including NFPA 13, NFPA 14, NFPA 214, and FM standards.

Thorough understanding of applicable mechanical codes (ASME, IBC, IMC, NFPA), engineering calculations, AHJ regulatory approval processes, and subcontract management.
