Job summary

Jacobs seeks a Senior Fire Protection Engineer to lead multi‑discipline projects, focusing on safe design and delivery of state‑of‑the‑art facilities. You will develop Water Spray/Sprinkler and foam systems and oversee safety planning across large industrial sites.

The role requires a PE license, 10–20% travel, and expertise from concept to construction. A Master’s is a plus, with mentoring of junior staff and strong leadership.

As a Senior Fire Protection Engineer working with our team in (Portland OR, Phoenix AZ, or Pittsburgh PA), you’ll use your skills and experience to help deliver and complete challenging and engaging buildings projects. You’ll assist in the design of Water Spray/Sprinkler and foam systems, for large industrial facilities with chemical hazards while also helping develop the plans for the overall building safety.

Here’s what you’ll need

Bachelor’s Degree in Fire Protection, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering

• Demonstrated experience in ability to lead projects and manage resources
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Navisworks and Revit/Revit MEP
• Experience mentoring junior staff
• Experience with full project lifeline – conceptual design through services during construction
• Professional Engineering (PE) license
• Ability to travel 10-20% of time

Ideally, you’ll also have

• Master’s Degree in Fire Protection, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering
• Design Management experience
• 10+ years of experience
• Experience with industrial hazardous area sprinkler systems
• Passion for fire sprinkler systems and innovative design solutions

The base salary range for this position is $132,900.00 to $182,700.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
