Qualifications

• Basic security or firefighter's course plus four years of security or fire prevention experience; or 18 months of security work with CLEET armed guard licensure.
• Knowledge of general law enforcement principles and public safety regulations; emergency response policies.
• Supervisory supervision and leadership responsibilities at a higher level.

Responsibilities

• Patrols and inspects buildings and grounds to detect and eliminate fire hazards.
• Interprets and enforces rules and safeguards life and property at state facilities.
• Responds to fire alarms; reports incidents and directs public and staff.
• Ventilates buildings to remove heat, smoke and gases; assists in fire emergencies.
• Checks access control and ensures doors/windows are secure; directs traffic near facilities.
• Prepares oral and written activity and incident reports.
