Job summary

Siemens is seeking a Senior Fire Alarm Systems Service Technician to service and maintain commercial fire alarm systems in the Sandy, UT area. You will inspect, test, and repair systems under maintenance contracts and mentor less experienced technicians on the job.

The role requires 4+ years’ experience, Utah Master Fire Alarm Technician certification (or NICET III), and the ability to read design/construction docs.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience servicing commercial fire alarm systems.
• Utah Master Fire Alarm Technician certification or NICET III Fire Alarm Certification.
• Must be able to differentiate wire types/colors, use hand tools, laptop, email, smartphone, and tablet, carry equipment weighing up to 75 pounds.
• If you have Utah Master certification but no NICET, you must obtain NICET II within 6 months.
• Must be able to read/understand design and construction documents.
• Must have valid driver's license and be eligible to participate in Siemens’ fleet vehicle program.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Execute comprehensive testing and inspections for systems under maintenance agreements.
• Create detailed test and inspection reports based on code requirements and customer needs.
• Respond to, troubleshoot, and complete repairs to maintain system functionality.
• Identify code and non-conformance issues and ensure adherence to standards.
• Quote small repair jobs and provide parts and labor requirements to estimators and sales.
• Plan work with Lead Technicians and Supervisors to strategize tasks.

**Senior** **Fire** **Alarm Systems Service Technicians** play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of our Smart Buildings. You will be responsible for the service and maintenance of commercial fire alarm systems. You willensure that components are inspected, tested, operated, and maintained according to the operational requirements of the customer.In addition to your primary responsibilities, you will also act as a mentor, providing on-the-job training to less experienced technicians, fostering a culture of growth and knowledge-sharing within our team.Our Fire Alarm Service Technicians are the face of Siemens,and your expertise and regular interaction with the customer will help keep their buildings and inhabitants safe.

**As a** **Senior** **Fire Alarm Systems Service Technician, you will:**

• + Execute comprehensive testing and inspections for systems under maintenance agreements.
• + Create detailed test and inspection reports based on code requirements and customer needs
• + Swiftly respond to, troubleshoot, and complete necessary repairs to maintain system functionality. Report on activities completed, deferred, or requiring further action or material
• + Identify code and non-conformance issues, ensuring adherence to required standards
• + Quote small repair jobs and provide detailed parts and labor requirements to estimators and sales for large repair projects
• + Plan work with Lead Technicians and Supervisors to strategize tasks effectively

**You will make an impact with these qualifications:**

_Basic Qualifications_:

• + 4+ years of experience programming and/or servicing commercial fire alarm systems
• + Utah Master Fire Alarm Technician certification or NICET III Fire Alarm Certification
• + Must be willing and able to differentiate types/colors of wire, use hand tools, laptop, email, smartphone, and tablet, carry and move equipment and tools weighing up to 75 poundsunassisted
• + If you already have the Utah Master Fire Alarm Technician certification but no NICET, you must obtain the NICET II Fire Alarm Certification within 6 months
• + Must be able to demonstrate the ability to read/understand design and construction documents
• + Must be 18 years of age and possess a valid driver's license with limited violations; must meet eligibility requirements to participate in Siemens’ fleet vehicle program
• + Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship

_Preferred Qualifications_:

• + High school diploma or state-recognized GED; Associate degree in electronics or related field preferred
• + 7+ years’ experience in the installation and/or maintenance of commercial fire alarm systems
• + Experience with Siemens Cerberus

The pay range for this position is $33.00 - $44.00 per hour. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
