Job summary

Fidelity in Durham, NC seeks a Senior FinOps Engineer to drive financial accountability across cloud and on‑prem. You will design pipelines, build Power BI dashboards, and partner with engineering and finance to embed FinOps best practices. Remote work is hybrid with onsite guidance.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in FinOps or related fields, with AWS and Azure experience, and strong SQL/Python skills. Observability tools and CI/CD experience are valued, with FinOps certification a plus.

Qualifications

• 5+ years experience in FinOps, Cloud Engineering, or Data Engineering.
• Hands-on experience with AWS and Azure platforms and services.
• Proficient with SQL, Python and workflow orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow).
• Observability tools experience (Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana).
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, chargeback and showback processes.
• FinOps certification or related finance/cloud infra background nice to have.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines for FinOps reporting and forecasting.

Senior FinOps Engineer The Role We’re seeking a highly skilled Senior FinOps Engineer to help drive financial accountability and cost optimization across our cloud and on‐prem infrastructure. In this role, you will blend cloud financial management, data engineering, analytics, and observability to improve efficiency, performance, and cost transparency across the organization. As a Senior FinOps Engineer in this role, you will: Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines to support FinOps reporting, forecasting, and automated insights. Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and visualizations to track cloud and application usage, spend, and efficiency metrics. Analyze usage patterns to identify cost‐saving opportunities, eliminate waste, and improve infrastructure performance. Support and enhance budgeting, forecasting, chargeback, and showback processes across multi-cloud and on‐prem environments. Partner with engineering, finance, and product teams to embed FinOps best practices into daily operations. The Expertise And Skills You Bring Possess 5+ years experience in FinOps, Cloud Engineering, or Data Engineering. Possess hands-on experience with AWS and Azure platforms and services. Proficient and possess demonstrated experience with SQL, Python and workflow orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow). Proficient experience with observability tools (e.g., Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana). Experience with standard CI/CD development processes. Solid understanding of cloud cost management tools and optimization methodologies. Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to convert data into actionable insights. Nice To Have FinOps Certified Practitioner or similar certification. Background in finance or cloud infrastructure operations.
