Job summary

Modine Manufacturing Company is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer focused on finishing systems to own and optimize powder coat, E-coat, and liquid UV top coat operations. You will partner with Production, Maintenance, Quality, Environmental, Safety, and Design teams to launch improvements that boost throughput and first-pass yield across finishing lines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably Manufacturing, Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial or Electrical.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the SME for finishing systems (powder coat, E-coat, liquid UV top coat).
• Develop, optimize, and sustain finishing processes including pretreatment, wash/rinse, coating application, curing, and inspection.
• Establish and maintain process parameters for film thickness, bath chemistry, conductivity, pH, temperature, line speed, cure profiles, color and gloss.
• Lead troubleshooting for finishing defects and root-cause analysis of issues.
• Coordinate installation, startup, commissioning, and validation for finishing equipment.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to improve uptime, compliance, and reduce rework/scrap.
• Write specs for equipment, tooling and processes (booths, tanks, spray systems, ovens, conveyors, filtration).
• Support new product launches and APQP activities by validating coating processes and process controls.
• Analyze process data and defect trends to identify improvements and implement corrective actions.
• Manage finishing-related capital and CI projects, including AFEs, schedules, costs, vendor coordination.
• Apply Lean Manufacturing to improve throughput, labor utilization, and line performance.
