Job summary

Soni is partnering with a leading New York law firm to hire a Senior Finance & Business Intelligence Analyst. You will develop financial reporting and analyses spanning clients, matters, practices, and offices.

The role blends hands-on SQL with Power BI/SSRS, advanced Excel, and financial analysis to support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic decision-making for leadership.

Qualifications

• Prior law firm experience required, preferably in financial analysis, FP&A, profitability, business intelligence, or management reporting.
• Strong hands-on SQL skills, including independently writing queries and working with relational databases.
• Advanced Excel skills, including large datasets, complex formulas, and pivot-based analysis.
• Strong understanding of law firm financial metrics, including WIP, receivables, realization, billing rates, and client/matter profitability.
• Experience with Power BI, SSRS, or similar reporting tools.
• Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, Analytics, or a related field.
• Experience with Aderant or another legal accounting platform is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and special finance projects.
• Partner with Finance and other business teams to deliver timely, actionable analysis.

Salary is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job‑related qualifications.
