Job summary

Ensemble Health Partners is seeking a detail-oriented financial counselor to join our on-site team in Jacksonville, TX. You will review patient benefits, estimate costs, and facilitate payments while addressing inquiries and ensuring accurate documentation.

The role supports improving patient experience and financial outcomes. Ideal candidates have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and 3–5 years in related revenue cycle areas.

Qualifications

  • Experience across multiple areas of the revenue cycle is preferred (e.g., financial counselor, eligibility, or patient access).
  • Openness to innovation including AI to improve processes and patient experience.

Responsibilities

  • Review benefits and estimate out-of-pocket costs.
  • Calculate patient liability and collect payments at point of service.
  • Address billing inquiries and maintain accurate account documentation.
  • Educate patients and resolve issues to improve satisfaction and financial performance.
  • Monitor trends, prepare operational reports and support process improvements.

  • This position is an onsite role, and candidates must be able to work on-site at Ardent - UT Health Jacksonville, Jacksonville, TX***


Essential Job Functions


  • Reviewing benefits, estimating out-of-pocket costs, facilitating payment arrangements, and ensuring compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements Public Benefits Eligibility - Medicaid Screening and/or Financial Assistance

  • Calculates patient liability estimates and collect payments at point of service

  • Addresses billing and coverage inquiries and maintain accurate account documentation

  • Provides education and problem resolution to enhance patient experience and financial performance

  • Monitors trends, prepare operational reports, and support process improvement initiatives to reduce financial barriers and improve satisfaction

  • Accountable for meeting productivity and department KPIs

  • Be knowledgeable of all client specific payment models.

  • Ability to triage patient financial questions and ensure resolution while in-house

  • Face-to-face connection with patients throughout their care journey

  • Escalate any financial process gaps identified

  • Communicate and collaborate with other personnel as needed, including case management, social workers, or physician liaisons

  • Must demonstrate critical thinking, problem solving and knowledge of all the Revenue Cycle areas and processes to be effective in the position

  • Performs other duties as assigned


Job Experience


  • 3 to 5 Years

  • Must be inquisitive and demonstrate openness to innovation including AI to explore better processes and ways to alleviate friction and improve patient and client experiences.


Education Level


  • Bachelor’s degree or Equivalent Experience


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities


  • Experience in multiple areas of the revenue cycle is preferred, including but not limited to a financial counselor role, customer service role, public benefits/Medicaid advocate/eligibility, state case/eligibility specialist or other applicable roles

  • Prior Patient Access or Physician based experience is a plus
