Bernalillo County seeks a Senior Financial/Fiscal Analyst in Albuquerque to perform advanced financial analyses, including cash flow and debt analysis, and to prepare a variety of financial reports or presentations.

The role oversees maintenance and accounting for health benefit programs, reconciliations, and related revenues and expenditures, ensuring compliance and accuracy. Strong analytical skills and compliance focus are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Economics, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Five (5) years of work experience in an increasingly responsible accounting or benefits role.
• Any equivalent combination of related education and/or experience may be considered for the above requirements.
• Post-offer employment medical examination and background investigation may be required.
• Compliance with safety guidelines and potential possession of a valid driver’s license, Class C or higher.
• Completion of FEMA training(s) and Supervisor classes if applicable.

Responsabilités

• Analyze and assist in developing solutions to problems using financial and project management expertise and cost-benefit analysis.
• Review and assist in fiscal planning, debt analysis, tax rate forecasting and other financial projections.
• Prepare program and fiscal impact reports and position papers on proposed legislation.
• Prepare agenda items, periodic and summary financial reports, letters and presentations.
• Serve on committees and negotiating teams as assigned by the Deputy County Manager for Finance.
• Deliver presentations and/or training to management, board committees and staff.
• Prepare cash flow analyses and report cash balances and major transactions.
• Review and analyze fiscal activities for compliance with accounting, program and legal requirements.
• Prepare journal entries in the general ledger and resolve discrepancies.
• Coordinate monthly/quarterly financial reporting for oversight agencies and inter-department collaboration.
• Analyze accounting or fiscal policies and procedures and recommend operational efficiencies.
• Act as department resource and perform other job-related duties.

Deliver presentations and/or training to management, board committees and staff.7. Prepares cash flow analyses; reports cash balances and major transactions.8. Reviews and analyzes a variety of fiscal activities to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting/program/legal requirements.9. Reviews and prepares journal entries in the general ledger; identifies, researches and resolves discrepancies.10. Assists in preparing a variety of monthly and quarterly financial reporting for submission to oversight agencies such as the Department of Finance and Administration; coordinates report development with other departments within the County.11.
