Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology is seeking aSenior Financial Analyst to contribute to strategic direction and support mission outcomes. You will participate in cost forecasting, variance analysis, and long-range financial modeling to guide leadership and ensure compliance with government regulations.

The role emphasizes collaboration across finance, sales, and operations, with emphasis on accuracy, attention to detail, and proactive risk management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or a related business discipline, or the equivalent combo of education, training, or experience.
• 5+ years related finance experience.
• Advanced Excel skills, especially formulas.
• Experience with Oracle and OBIEE or other accounting systems.
• Government contract experience.
• Familiarity with various contract types (T&M, Firm Fixed Price).
• Knowledge of billing and revenue cycle.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Proven planning and organizational skills.
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Create monthly and quarterly financial business reviews.
• Prepare monthly cost forecasts, risk assessments, and variance analyses for senior management.
• Prepare financial cost reports for monthly close and forecasting.
• Analyze monthly forecasts and current quarter projections.
• Develop long-range financial models with management.
• Assist with risk identification and recovery when needed.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies and government regulations.
• Keep up to date with laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Support audits readiness and responses.
• Provide financial guidance to drive profitable growth.
• Manage procurement and cost submissions with proper backups.
• Collaborate across sales, operations, and project management teams.
• Monitor impact of indirect rates, rate pools, and allocations.
• Provide guidance to junior analysts.
