A Brief Summary of This Position

This position reports through a matrixed structure to the Utility Finance Business Partnership organization and the Director of Financial Reporting and serves as a senior finance reporting and analytics resource supporting the Utility business and broader Finance organization. The role is expected to provide technical leadership and guidance while remaining a hands‑on contributor within the reporting and analytics organization. This role may provide coaching, prioritization support, and informal leadership for reporting resources as the function grows. Strong candidates will bring experience in financial reporting, FP&A, business intelligence, automation, KPI development, AI‑enabled technologies, and cross‑functional partnership. The role combines technical reporting expertise with business acumen to improve financial visibility, advance reporting automation and AI adoption, reduce manual effort, support standardized reporting, and translate data into decision‑ready insights that drive better business outcomes.

Essential Functions

Operate in a matrixed finance reporting model, partnering closely with the Utility Finance Business Partner organization, Director of Financial Reporting, FP&A, operations, commercial, accounting, and IT Data teams to support accurate business‑relevant reporting. Drive adoption of AI‑enabled tools, business intelligence platforms, and reporting automation technologies to improve reporting efficiency, enhance insight generation, reduce manual effort, and support continuous improvement across finance processes. Lead and support recurring financial and operational reporting, dashboards, analytical models, and leadership reporting packages used in forecasting, business reviews, and performance management. Translate Utility business needs into clear reporting requirements, KPI views, dashboard priorities, and analytical outputs while ensuring alignment with enterprise reporting standards, data definitions, governance expectations, and single‑source‑of‑truth principles. Perform and review hands‑on analysis of financial and operational data, including revenue, margin, backlog, invoicing, working capital, cost performance, productivity, forecast‑to‑actual results, and business driver trends. Provide technical leadership, guidance, and prioritization support for reporting and analytics activities while remaining directly involved in report development, data validation, process improvement, and analytical problem solving. Partner with Financial Reporting, IT Data, and business stakeholders to improve data quality, automate manual reporting, and advance scalable reporting, analytics, and AI‑enabled capabilities. Support forecasting, AOP, monthly business reviews, product line reporting, balance sheet reporting, backlog/invoicing visibility, and adhoc leadership analysis by connecting reporting outputs to risks, opportunities, trends, and business implications. Communicate clearly with leaders at multiple levels, challenge data assumptions when needed, elevate reporting issues appropriately, and convert complex analyses into concise, practical insights that improve decision quality and business follow‑through.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Analytics, Data Analytics, or related field with 5+ years of relevant experience in finance, reporting, analytics, FP&A, operations finance, or business support roles. Experience leading or supporting recurring financial reporting, dashboards, KPI reporting, forecasting support, and management reporting. Experience leveraging business intelligence, automation, analytics, or AI‑enabled technologies to improve reporting effectiveness and decision support. Strong analytical skills with the ability to gather, validate, interpret, and communicate financial and operational performance data. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications; experience with ERP, planning, and reporting systems. Experience with Power BI, OneStream, Databricks, Power Query, or similar reporting, data visualization, and analytics platforms. Ability to operate effectively in a matrixed environment, manage competing priorities, influence without direct authority, and balance hands‑on execution with continuous improvement initiatives.
