Job summary

Thumbtack is seeking aSenior Financial Analyst, CCO to partner with leaders and support decision-making as the company grows. You will lead forecasting, budgeting and variance analysis for operating expenses, and develop strategic cost-management solutions across functions.

You will engage with stakeholders, refine financial models, and ensure accurate commission alignment with Sales. A strong foundation in finance and collaboration is essential in our fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field.
• 6+ years of relevant FP&A, corporate finance or management consulting experience.
• Strong financial modelling and analytical skills, using key tools within Excel and G-Suite.
• Understanding of US GAAP or IFRS.
• Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
• Proven ability to collaborate cross functionally.
• Amenable to working a graveyard shift aligned with PST hours (9:00 AM – 5:00 PM PST).

Responsibilities

• Drive the monthly, annual forecasts and budgets for all opex spend, highlighting variance analysis and implications.
• Forecast accurately, aligning assumptions with stakeholders and understanding spend.
• Evaluate trade offs and financial sensitivities for better decision making.
• Provide front line support for ad hoc financial analysis requests and inquiries, presenting data.
• Develop efficiency metrics to inform growth and set financial context.
• Establish and maintain trusting relationships with key stakeholders.
• Reconcile headcount for the organization.
• Partner with business peers to design cost-management solutions.
• Support Sales team to ensure accuracy and alignment of commissions.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Senior Financial Analyst, CCO will partner with various leaders at Thumbtack to help manage and grow the business. The company is growing at a rapid pace and you will play an important role providing thought partnership and decision support to many new initiatives. This role reports to the Finance Manager of FP&A.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Drive the monthly, annual forecasts and budgets for all opex spend, highlighting insightful variance analysis and implications to forecast
• Forecast accurately, not only aligning on assumptions with stakeholders, but understanding what, where, and why we spend
• Evaluate trade offs and financial sensitivities leading to better decision making and scenario planning
• Provide front line support for ad hoc financial analysis requests and inquiries, presenting and visualizing data and insights
• Develop efficiency metrics to help inform growth and set financial context
• Establish and maintain trusting relationships with all key stakeholders
• Reconcile HC for organization
• Partner closely with business partners to understand their needs and develop effective and strategic cost management solutions
• Support Sales team to ensure accuracy and alignment of commissions

IN ORDER TO BE SUCCESSFUL, YOU MUST BRING

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field
• 6+ years of relevant financial analysis work experience in FP&A, corporate finance, or management consulting
• Strong financial modeling and analytical skills, using key tools within Excel and G-Suite
• Adopts a constant improvement mindset and applies towards making processes & procedures more efficient
• Strong understanding of/ exposure to US GAAP or IFRS
• Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
• Proven ability to collaborate cross functionally
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to partner effectively with stakeholders across the organization
• Amenable to working a graveyard shift aligned with PST hours (9:00 AM – 5:00 PM PST)

Actual offered salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as calibrated job level, qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role.
