Job summary

MDU Resources Group, Inc. in Washington state seeks a Financial Analyst IV to lead complex accounting and financial reporting for the company and its subsidiaries. You will ensure accuracy of monthly closes and collaborate with management to deliver timely analyses.

This role requires a four-year degree in accounting or related field, and several years of accounting/finance experience. JD Edwards experience and familiarity with GAAP, SOX, and FERC Chart of Accounts are valued.

Qualifications

• Four-year degree in accounting, finance or related field.
• Experience with GAAP, SOX and FERC Chart of Accounts is preferred.
• JD Edwards experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Complete day-to-day activities, calculations, reconciliations and analyses for periodic financial closes.
• Assist in coordination and administration of annual capital and O&M budgets, Operating Plan and five-year forecast.
• Recommend enhancements to accounting policies, procedures and systems; ensure GAAP and SOX compliance.
• Prepare stand-alone, consolidated and combined monthly internal statements and financial reports; respond to data requests.
• Design and maintain spreadsheets and databases; support accounting software improvements.
