Job summary

Aon is seeking an FP&A professional to partner with regional leaders across North America to drive budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis. You will build financial models, provide timely reporting, and enable strategic decision-making. Strong Excel and GAAP knowledge are required, with 4+ years in FP&A.

The role emphasizes cross-functional collaboration with Finance and business partners to streamline processes and improve financial performance across the region.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of annual budgets and forecasts with business partners and finance colleagues.
• Analyze financial performance including actual vs budget/forecast and prior year with insights on variances.
• Develop and maintain financial models to support forecasting and decision making (revenue, expenses, profitability, capacity, scenarios).
• Provide timely monthly financial reporting package to business leaders and stakeholders.
• Partner with regional leaders to create strategic plans to improve financial performance.
• Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve reporting.
• Ensure best practices in financial planning and analysis, ensuring accuracy of data.

You will partner with of the Regional and Market Leaders as well as Finance colleagues throughout North America to drive actionable analysis and insights to help business leaders make better decisions. This position plays a critical role supporting strategic planning, forecasting, and variance analysis to key Business leaders, as well as owning end‑to‑end reporting and providing actionable business insights.

What the day will look like

• Lead the development of annual budgets and forecasts, working closely with business partners and finance colleagues around the region to gather inputs and pressure test assumptions.
• Analyze financial performance including actual results compared budget, forecast and prior year, providing key insights on variances.
• Develop and maintain financial models to support forecasting and business decision making, including revenue, expense, profitability, capacity analysis, and scenario planning.
• Provide timely financial reporting package to business leaders and finance stakeholders monthly.
• Partner with Market and Regional leaders to create strategic plans focused on improving financial performance
• Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes and improve financial reporting.
• Ensure best practices in financial planning and analysis, ensuring accuracy and consistency in financial data.

Skills and experience that will lead to success

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
• 4+ years of experience in FP&A, financial analysis, or a related field, with experience in the insurance or professional services industry strongly preferred.
• Advanced proficiency in financial modeling and analysis using Excel; experience with financial planning tools such as Workday, Tm1 or similar systems.
• Ability to work collaboratively across functions & teams, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Organized and strong attention to detail.
• Strong understanding of GAAP.

Pay Transparency Laws

The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $78,000 - $90,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant's education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant's geographic location.

The salary range reflected is based on a primary work location of Chicago, Illinois. The actual salary may vary for applicants in a different geographic location.

This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon's annual incentive plans to receive an annual discretionary bonus in addition to base salary. The amount of any bonus varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
