Job summary

Abbott in Sylmar, CA seeks a Senior Financial Analyst in FP&A to support Cardiac Rhythm Management operations. The role partners with site finance and leadership to drive financial ownership, cost efficiency and business excellence.

You will manage budgeting, forecasting, standard cost setting, and month-end processes, delivering insights for strategic decisions. This position offers growth in a global healthcare company.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum 4+ years of experience in month-end close, financial variance analysis, and forecasting.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Self-motivated and proactive, setting high standards for success.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Great communication skills and ability to articulate results based on audience.
  • Quick learner and adaptable to changes and new environment.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with site finance and operations leadership to develop budgets and forecasts in support of annual Plan and quarterly LBE.
  • Perform variance analysis and identify key drivers in support of business performance improvement and strategic decision‑making.
  • Participate in the annual standard cost setting cycle for all site manufactured products.
  • Conduct regular financial reviews with business partners to communicate financial performance, key business issues, and provide valuable insight to help business achieve financial goals.
  • Provide ad-hoc analyses to support complex decision making with site operations leadership, and present recommendations to management and business leaders.

Our location in Sylmar, CA currently has an opportunity for a Senior Financial Analyst. The Senior Financial Analyst will be an FP&A professional supporting Cardiac Rhythm Management team in Operations Finance. This position will be partnering with site finance and operations leadership to drive financial ownership, cost efficiency, and business excellence. Scope of responsibilities include financial planning of operational expense, tracking PPV, consolidation of P&L, quarterly “latest best estimate” forecast cycles, annual product standard cost setting, preparation of presentations for month-end results, and strategic ad hoc analyses.

What You’ll Work On

Required Qualifications

  • Familiarity with VBA, Python programming language and/or willingness to learn.

The base pay for this position is $90,000.00 – $180,000.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
