Abbott, a global healthcare leader, invites applications for a Senior Financial Analyst in Plymouth, Minnesota. You will contribute to month-end close, forecasting, and reporting for the Electrophysiology division’s FP&A activities.

You’ll build financial models, coordinate audits, and partner with business teams to drive efficiency using Hyperion Essbase, SAP, PowerBI, and advanced Excel capabilities. The role demands strong communication and analytical skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field.
• 4+ years of FP&A experience in a professional setting.
• Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Strong MS Excel and PowerPoint skills.
• Strong communication and analytical/problem-solving abilities; Hyperion Essbase experience.

Responsibilities

• Support Month-End close including accruals, journal entries, headcount review, variance analysis, and monthly reporting.
• Contribute to quarterly forecasts by owning assigned areas and communicating drivers to leadership.
• Coordinate Audit Requests and ensure compliance with US GAAP and SOX.
• Identify improvements and develop financial processes to drive performance.
• Build financial models using Excel and related tools.
• Support ad hoc finance inquiries from business partners.

The Opportunity

The Electrophysiology Division is currently recruiting a Senior Financial Analyst to work out of our Plymouth, Minnesota facility.

In Abbott’s Electrophysiology (EP) business, we’re advancing the treatment of heart disease through breakthrough medical technologies in atrial fibrillation, allowing people to restore their health and get on with their lives.

What You’ll Work On

• Support the Month-End close process including accrual requests, journal entries preparation, spending/headcount review, variance analysis to forecast, and reporting of monthly results to management.
• Contribute to the quarterly forecast processes by independently taking ownership for assigned areas. This includes discussion with the respective business partners, understand business inputs and assumptions, consolidate inputs to division level, commenting on the final numbers, provide effective communication to leadership on performance and drivers, and driving excellence in both processes and used tools.
• Coordinate Audit Requests and provide supporting documentation in a timely manner, ensuring compliance with US GAAP, SOX, and Abbott Accounting Policies.
• Identify areas that can be improved and constructively propose new solutions that drive efficiencies. Develop and utilize sound financial processes to drive improved business performance.
• Financial modeling with extensive use of Excel.
• Support other Ad Hoc finance requests or enquiries from business partners.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field.
• 4+ years of full-time experience in FP&A (Financial Planning and analysis).
• Demonstrated ability to work autonomously, take initiative, and proactively drive work to completion with minimal supervision.
• Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain accuracy, and consistently deliver high-quality work.
• Excellent skills in computer applications (MS Excel and PowerPoint).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in matrix-oriented organization.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience in Hyperion Essbase.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in expense planning and financial modeling.
• Experience with SAP, Business Objects, and PowerBI tools.

The base pay for this position is

$78,000.00 – $156,000.00

In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
