- Lead budgeting, strategic planning, variance reporting, and ad-hoc analysis activities for a facility, region, division, or system-wide team
- Complete routine, non-routine, and complex functions including operating budget, capital budget, strategic planning, patient accounts, and operations
- Prepare financial analyses, variance reports, and ad-hoc reports
- Develop quantitative reports with internal customers using data sources to analyze clinical and operational issues
- Serve as technical expert and resource on financial systems and processes
- Problem-solve and mentor other analysts
- Collect data from Intermountain Healthcare data sources
- Coordinate information gathering, process scheduling, and issue communication
- Analyze financial trends and economic and business forecasts of reporting outcomes and variances
- Create and maintain databases for collecting and tracking performance measurement data
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a business-related field preferred
- Degree obtained through an accredited institution; education is verified
- Demonstrated experience with budgeting and finance tracking responsibilities
- Demonstrated project management skills, high degree of accuracy, and sound decision-making with limited supervision
- Experience using word processing, spreadsheet, database, internet and e-mail, and scheduling applications
- Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Preferred: four years of professional experience conducting and evaluating routine financial analysis
- Preferred alternative: master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or business-related field with two years of experience conducting and evaluating routine financial analysis
- Knowledge of Intermountain Healthcare finances and financial processes preferred
- Ability to see and read information, documents, monitors, equipment, and supplies
- Ability to verbally communicate and hear and understand spoken information, needs, and issues quickly and accurately
- Manual dexterity to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy
- Frequent computer use for typing and accessing information
- For driving-required roles, ability to drive a vehicle and read signs and traffic signals
