Job description

To participate in a remote work arrangement, employees must reside in the United States. No remote work arrangement will be considered for working from outside the United States.

The Senior Financial Aid Specialist - Compliance supports the Financial Aid function at Herzing University with policy, procedure, technology, and process optimization needs. This role requires high attention to detail and technical proficiency. The Senior Specialist serves on the Financial Aid Compliance Team within the Home Office division of Financial Aid.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred. High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • 3+ Years of Title IV administration experience preferred. Minimum 1 year of experience required.
  • Additional preferred experience includes:
    • Experience with administration of state and external (non-federal) funding sources highly preferred.
    • Experience with automated systems and processes.
    • Experience with policy, procedure, and data system development using automation to accomplish objectives.
    • Knowledge of federal, state, and institutional regulations related to financial aid eligibility and processing.

Pay: Compensation is determined based on qualifications, experience, and circumstances of each hire. The hourly pay range for this position is $27.80 to $37.61. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including tuition waiver and reimbursement, health insurance, paid time off, and a retirement savings plan.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform internal audits of Federal, State, military, and institutional funding programs, and collaborate on staff training opportunities.
  • Analyze Financial Aid processes and recommend improvements leveraging technology, systems, and reporting.
  • Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for system upgrades by designing test plans, documenting cases, and executing tests.
  • Partner with campus Financial Aid leadership on budget utilization, staffing, and resource management.
  • Maintain the FWS Tracker and resolve documented issues promptly.
  • Configure Financial Aid software for award year, fund, and document setup to ensure accuracy.
  • Support Financial Aid staff through troubleshooting and policy review.
