The Financial Aid & Scholarships (FAS) Office is committed to helping students achieve their educational goals by providing effective and meaningful financial aid assistance. FAS is responsible for processing financial aid applications, administrating various financial aid programs, and providing financial aid counseling to students and their families.
This position serves as a team leader within the Financial Aid & Scholarship (FAS) Office, manages quality assurance relating to financial aid verification and eligibility counseling and financial aid award packaging required for efficient and compliant administration of financial aid, and possesses a high level of expertise regarding federal, state, and institutional aid administration.
Bachelor's degree and four years of financial aid administration and/or related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
The preferred candidate will possess the following additional qualifications: Thorough knowledge of university policies and procedures related to functional area (or ability to rapidly assimilate). Thorough knowledge of Federal and State rules and regulations related to functional area (or ability to rapidly assimilate). Prior experience with PeopleSoft. Strong problem-solving skills. Strong critical thinking skills. Ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations verbally and in writing. Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships. Ability to work independently. Knowledge of safety and security precautions appropriate to work performed. Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
As a condition of hire and continued employment, must be in good standing on all federal student loans and must grant permission for the office to access the National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS) to verify such standing.
