Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Finance Data Analyst in the Bellevue, WA area to partner with Operations, Product, Tech and Procurement teams. You will leverage large datasets to drive advanced analysis, automation and metrics that support business objectives.

The role requires 3+ years in finance or analytics, a strong foundation in data mining, and proficiency with SQL, Excel, Python. MBA/CPA are a plus; the position includes competitive benefits and RSUs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or related analytical field.
• 3+ years of finance or related analytical field experience.
• MBA or CPA preferred.
• Experience with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards).

Responsibilities

• Serve as an expert in Finance and Data bridging gaps of knowledge between finance and data teams.
• Expertise collecting, analyzing and managing quantitative data and creating meaningful metrics and tools to drive business improvement and cost reductions
• Write systems queries to gather finance data and perform data-mining and analysis using tools including MS Excel, SQL (required) and Python.
• Root cause analysis and uncovering core issues using data, then assisting Ops team improve its competitive position and profitability.
• Enable IB finance stakeholders to navigate data driven solutions and datasets to ensure they can effectively self-service their needs.
• Work with data source providers and tech teams to ensure that key decision data is accurate, automated and timely
• Proven ability to manage competing priorities & providing level-headed guidance during unexpected events
• Strong organizational skills, clear communication, and the ability to manage multiple documents while coordinating inputs from several stakeholders.
