Job summary

Kiewit is seeking a Senior Finance Analyst based in Westlake, TX to lead financial planning and analysis for major construction projects. You will partner with project management and operations teams to drive financial performance, manage forecasting, budgeting, and reporting, and ensure contract compliance.

You will collaborate with multiple districts, mentor junior analysts, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance financial performance and operational efficiency.

Qualifications

• 4-8+ years of accounting and/or financial/data analysis experience, preferably in construction.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Management, and/or related field.
• Strong understanding of GAAP, financial controls, and project accounting.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP systems preferred.
• Exceptional analytical, communication (both oral and written), and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead financial planning & analysis for large scale construction projects, ensuring accuracy in forecasting, budgeting, and financial reporting.
• Partner with project management and operations teams to drive financial performance by identifying, quantifying, and communicating financial risks and opportunities.
• Oversee and evaluate all transactional processes for accuracy, efficiency, and compliance.
• Prepare client invoicing, manage accounts receivable/revenue recognition, and review project cash flow projection on a monthly basis.
• Review and understand prime contract and change orders, including insurance, taxes, payment terms, and labor laws.
• Follow and implement internal controls, and support internal and external audits ensuring adherence to GAAP, company policy, and contract accounting requirements.
• Manage month-end close process and prepare comprehensive financial reporting packages for senior leadership.
• Drive continuous improvement throughout the organization and be a proponent for positive change.
• Earn trust, credibility, and buy in of processes from operations team to create better cohesion and clear communication within the organization.
• Able to build high functioning teams with a focus on employee development, results, and continuous improvement.
