Job summary

BILL is seeking a highly analytical Senior Financial Analyst to join our ProductFinance team. You will partner with product managers, build KPI reporting, and develop business cases for new features and initiatives. This IC role focuses on data-driven investment decisions and resource allocation.

You will support annual planning, maintain product KPI dashboards, and collaborate with senior Product Finance colleagues to drive strategy and performance tracking.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of FP&A or related analytical role.
  • Strong financial modeling using Excel/Sheets with guidance from senior team members.
  • Experience with software/payments is a plus (credit & fraud modeling valued).
  • Analytical mindset with ability to structure ambiguous problems.
  • Team player with proactive, responsible work style.
  • Clear communication of financial concepts to non-finance stakeholders.
  • Ownership over multiple deliverables with guidance from seniors.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Mathematics, or related field.

About the Role

At BILL, we are looking for a highly analytical and detail-oriented Senior Financial Analyst to join our ProductFinance team. In this individual contributor (IC) role, you will act as a key financial partner to our productorganization, building analyses that power confident, data-driven product investment decisions and keepexecution on track.You will support the annual planning process, build and maintain product KPI reporting, and partner closely withsenior Product Finance team members to develop business cases for new features and strategic initiatives. Thisis an excellent opportunity to develop deep product finance expertise while directly contributing to productstrategy, performance tracking, and resource allocation decisions.


Key Responsibilities


  • Business Partnering: Serve as a proactive financial partner to product managers and product leaders, translating financial data and analysis into clear insights that inform day-to-day and strategic decisions.

  • Product KPIs & Reporting: Build, maintain, and continuously improve reporting on key product KPIs (e.g., adoption, retention, monetization, unit economics), incorporating leading indicators to flag emerging risks or opportunities early.

  • Financial Modeling & Business Cases: Build and maintain financial models to support business cases for new product launches, feature investments, and pricing initiatives.

  • Annual Planning: Support annual planning for the product organization, including budget tracking, variance analysis, and headcount planning.

  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline and automate recurring reporting and analysis, improving accuracy and turnaround time.


Qualifications


  • Experience: 3-5 years of progressive experience in FP&A, strategic finance, corporate finance, investment banking, equity research, or a related analytical role.

  • Financial Modeling: Strong financial modeling skills using Excel/Google Sheets, with the ability to build and maintain moderately complex models with guidance from senior team members.

  • Software/Payments Experience (Preferred): Experience at a software or payments company is a plus. Experience with credit and/or fraud loss modeling is particularly valued.

  • Analytical Mindset: Strong quantitative and problem-solving skills, with the ability to structure ambiguous problems into clear analytical frameworks.

  • Team Player: Collaborative, detail-oriented, and proactive, with a “no task is too small” mindset and a track record of building trust across teams.

  • Communication Skills: Ability to clearly communicate financial concepts and analysis to non-finance stakeholders, both verbally and in writing.

  • Ownership Mindset: Self-motivated and organized, with a strong sense of ownership over multiple deliverables and priorities, operating effectively with general guidance from senior team members.i
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.


Our ranges for each role and job level are based on a variety of factors including candidate experience, expertise, and geographic location and may vary from the amounts listed below. Zone 1: San Francisco Bay Area CA (includes HQ), New York City, Seattle, Los Angeles County


$104,800—$131,040 USD


Zone 2: CA (Non San Francisco Bay Area and Los Angeles County), Austin TX, Massachusetts


$94,300—$117,900 USD


Zone 3: Utah (includes Utah office), Dallas TX, Houston TX, Florida, North Carolina, Illinois, Colorado, Arizona, Georgia, Oregon, Pennsylvania


$89,100—$111,400 USD
