Job summary

Bloom Energy seeks a Sr. Staff Field Quality Engineer to support West Coast customers, based in San Jose, CA or remotely within the region. You will lead site audits, ensure design and workmanship meet standards, and drive critical quality improvements across projects.

The role requires 5+ years of field experience on complex power systems, strong communication, and the ability to coordinate with EPC partners and internal teams to prevent issues and ensure reliability.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related field, or 10 years relevant work experience.
• MS degree desirable.
• Minimum 5 years of field experience constructing, installing and commissioning complex power systems.
• Ability to read and communicate civil and electrical designs to partners and verticals.
• Proven autonomy and ability to communicate schedule and priorities clearly.
• Experience with quality processes and compliance in field environments.

Responsibilities

• Audit and support site construction and Bloom Energy product installations to design requirements.
• Gate projects from design to service phase by inspecting site installations and confirming design intent.
• Document, track and drive resolution of cross-functional and external process deficiencies.
• Regular safety and environmental audits across construction, installation and commissioning.
• Establish 8D problem solving with process owners to contain issues and implement corrective actions.
• Provide rapid response to Early Life Failures in the field for construction and manufacturing issues.
• Support FRU exchanges and product upgrade activities at sites with Field Service and Operations.
• Focus on continuous improvement, value-added engineering and cost reduction through data analysis.
