Job summary

Jobtailor seeks an Electronics Field Technician to perform repair and maintenance on equipment at field sites, operate diagnostic devices, troubleshoot to the component level, and install electrical prototypes under engineer direction.

The role involves leading field installations, coordinating with subcontractors and agency customers, preparing technical reports and charts, and mentoring other engineers as needed.

Qualifications

• Two-year college degree in electronics / CS preferred.
• Minimum of six years' related electronics field technician experience.
• Knowledge of fare collection devices desired.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to lift up to 70 pounds.
• Valid driver license with satisfactory driving record.

Responsibilities

• Perform repair and maintenance on equipment at field sites.
• Operate and troubleshoot digital/analog devices down to component level.
• Install and modify electrical prototypes under direction of Electrical Engineer.
• Set up and initiate operation of equipment at field installations.
• Adjust circuitry and components to analyze performance deviations.
• Create technical reports and develop charts describing system characteristics.
• Identify and analyze malfunctions in operational equipment.
• Test, troubleshoot and repair for continued operation of equipment.
• Use electronic measuring devices, schematics and wiring diagrams for repair.
• Maintain records/logs of maintenance per contractual requirements.
• Consult with engineering to solve unusual problems and may lead testing and maintenance.
• Interface with customer agencies during operational and performance meetings.
• Conduct site surveys and supervise installation of field equipment.
• Manage long-term projects coordinating with subcontractors and customers; may serve as lead.
