Job summary

United Rentals is seeking a Field Diesel Mechanic - Customer Equipment Solutions to maintain and repair complex equipment on customer-owned assets with limited supervision. You will travel to job sites, keep accurate work orders, and support the Service Department with training and customer service excellence.

The role requires a HS diploma, a valid license, 5+ years of repair experience, and a strong mechanical background.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• 5+ years of experience repairing/maintaining equipment and tools.
• Advanced mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of tools.
• Knowledge of construction equipment and engines.
• Understanding of schematics and diagrams.
• Must own tools applicable to position.
• Superior customer service and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance and repair of complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems on rental and customer equipment.
• Travel to customer job sites for repair/maintenance; maintain service vehicle clean and professional.
• Assist in training of lower level technicians.
• Maintain paperwork/electronic documentation of work performed (work orders).
• Upsell and demonstrate a wide array of complex equipment to customers.
• Assist with pick-up and delivery of equipment & parts.
• Other duties as needed.
