Jobtailor is seeking a Field Lab Pack Technician in Kansas to handle hazardous and non-hazardous materials, ensure safety compliance, and coordinate lab packing services across client sites. The role involves daily dispatch to projects, documentation using the HP System, and collaboration with Field Technicians and Drivers.

  • 2+ years of related experience.
  • 2+ years of lab packing or environmental waste experience.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Class B CDL with Hazmat endorsement within 6 months of hire.
  • Ability to pass MVR and background checks.
  • Must be clean shaven to don a respirator.

Responsibilities

  • Sort and transport hazardous and non-hazardous materials and waste.
  • Report to the Field Office, dispatch to projects during the day, and return to the office at the end of the day.
  • Travel to industry, laboratory, and educational sites to perform lab pack services.
  • Characterize materials at field project sites.
  • Complete manifests, disposal labels, and waste stream documentation using HP system.
  • Direct Field Technicians and Drivers assisting with waste collection.

Job description

  • Sort and transport hazardous and non-hazardous materials and waste
  • Ensure compatibility and safety in all service processes
  • Report to the Field Office, dispatch to projects during the day, and return to the office at the end of the day
  • Adhere to health and safety policies, processes, and safe practices
  • Segregate chemicals by hazard class and pack compatible materials in appropriate containers
  • Prepare necessary paperwork for each job
  • Determine and load supplies needed for job completion
  • Travel to industry, laboratory, and educational sites to perform lab pack services
  • Characterize materials at field project sites
  • Follow placarding and load segregation requirements when transporting hazardous materials
  • Communicate with customer site contacts, provide progress updates, and address questions
  • Direct Field Technicians and Drivers assisting with waste collection
  • Complete introductory-level proposal preparation
  • Manage and assess high-hazard materials and handle cylinders
  • Complete and review manifests, land disposal restrictions, labels, billing documents, and waste streams using the HP system
  • Assist in training Field Chemist I and II positions
  • Take on additional duties as assigned
Requirements
  • Associates degree (required); Bachelor’s degree (preferred)
  • In lieu of degree, 2+ years of related experience (required)
  • 2+ years of previous experience in lab packing or environmental waste (required)
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Ability to obtain a Class B CDL with Hazmat endorsement within 6 months of hire date
  • Ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Record search to Company standards
  • Must be clean shaven at all times in order to don a respirator for protection
  • Ability to travel to support outside locations as needed
  • Must complete a post-offer drug screen and background check
