Job summary

Renesas Electronics Corp. is seeking a Senior Field Applications Engineer (FAE) for Analog & Power in a hybrid role to drive design-in activities across the Americas. You will collaborate with customer engineering teams and Renesas marketing to shape next-generation automotive products.

The role requires hands-on experience with automotive ECU design, analog/power electronics, and strong project management. Excellent English communication and interpersonal skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or similar field.
• Minimum 5 years of related work experience, or MSEE with 2 years in relevant automotive.
• Experience in automotive analog and power semiconductors is a plus.
• Excellent verbal and written communication in English.

Responsibilities

• Drive the design-in activities of the Automotive Analog and Power products in the Americas.
• Define new products with customers and internal teams.
• Act as a technical interface and advise customers during development of automotive applications.
• Derive customer requirements and market trends to develop system value propositions.
• Actively manage projects with Sales and Marketing to achieve design-in targets.
• Establish and maintain relationships with customer engineering departments.
• Perform measurements in our laboratory on customer projects.
• Support distribution partners during FAE trainings or end customer seminars.
• Maximize future business for all Renesas products across sales channels.
• Listen to business partners, build trust, and balance technical activities with commercial priorities.

Job description

As a Senior Field Applications Engineer (FAE) Analog & Power, is a hybrid role where you will drive the design-in activities of the Automotive Analog and Power products in the Americas and across all sales channels according to the business development programs agreed with management. You will also play a key role in the definition of the next generation of Renesas Automotive Products working closely to the customer engineering teams and to Renesas application engineering and marketing teams.

In your new role you will:

• Drive the design-in activities of the Automotive Analog and Power products in the Americas

• Define new products in close cooperation with our innovative customers and our internal technical marketing and applications teams.

• Act as a technical interface and consult our customers during the development of all automotive applications.

• Derive customer requirements and market trends to develop system value propositions together with internal interfaces (Marketing, Application, System Engineering).

• Actively manage projects together with the Sales and Marketing departments to achieve design-in targets.

• Establish and maintain excellent relationships with the customer engineering departments.

• Perform measurements in our laboratory within the scope of actual customer projects.

• Support our distribution partners during FAE trainings or end customer seminars.

• Maximize the future business for all Renesas products across all sales channels.

Furthermore, you keep profitability in mind and are able to prioritize your technical activities from a commercial point of view.

• A degree in Electrical Engineering or similar field of studies.

• Minimum 5 years of related work experience, or MSEE and 2 years of relevant experience. Experience in Automotive applications is a plus.

• Working experience as a Field or Applications Engineer

• Working knowledge of the application of analog and power semiconductors in automotive applications.

• Hands-on experience designing Automotive ECU, Analog and Power electronics, etc.

• Hands-on experience designing ECUs, xEV systems, Power Modules and Telematics systems.

• Proven ability to prioritize activities and effectively manage multiple tasks simultaneously; Able to balance strong technical skills with solid relationship building and account management capabilities.

• Excellent interpersonal skills, as customers interface is a significant aspect of the role; Personable, with the ability to develop rapport and trust with customers and colleagues alike.

• Excellent reading skills for complete understanding of technical documents such as User Manuals, Datasheets and the like.

• Excellent verbal and written communication and English skills.
