Job summary

Conexon is seeking an Installation/QC Technician to join the Conexon Connect operations team in Albany, GA. The role installs, maintains, and repairs customer FTTX broadband and voice services and performs quality control on fellow technicians while managing inventory across the territory.

Responsibilities include installing aerial or buried drops, ONTs, and NIDs, wiring fiber and Ethernet cabling, coordinating with warehouses, and ensuring inventory levels are sufficient.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; college degree preferred.
• 5+ years experience in FTTX install implementations.
• NISC experience.
• Strong PC and Microsoft Office skills.
• Ability to use optical test equipment including fusion splicers and OTDRs.
• Forklift operation and ability to drive company vehicle.
• Strong communication and leadership skills; self-motivated with limited supervision.
• Physically able to lift 100 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Installing FTTX broadband service to residential and commercial customers.
• Assures customer services are restored after trouble ticket dispatch.
• Completing both interior and exterior cabling of fiber optic and category 6 ethernet cables.
• Completing quality control checks of other technicians.
• Assigning equipment and material to warehouses, technicians, and customers.
• Assuring proper inventory is maintained at each project location.
• Documenting assignment of inventory within inventory system.
• Complete requisitions and purchase orders; track feeder construction.
• Communicate with field personnel to assure inventory levels are sufficient.
• Negotiating with vendors to assure procurement and reconciling inventory.
