Job summary

Catalent's Baltimore site is seeking a Senior Scientist in Fermentation - IR&D, Product Development, to advance upstream fermentation development for novel vectors. You will lead clone selection and high-throughput screening, collaborating with internal teams and clients to drive process improvements.

This 100% onsite role in Baltimore, MD requires strong experience in E. coli systems, scale-up, and manufacturing transfers to GMP environments, with a focus on cell and gene therapy platforms.

Qualifications

• PhD or MS with extensive upstream R&D experience in biologics
• Strong track record in fermentation development and cloning
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Responsibilities

• Lead upstream fermentation development for novel vectors
• Perform clone selection and strain evaluation for high yield
• Tech transfer processes to GMP manufacturing and Process Development
• Mentor junior team members and collaborate with clients
