Job summary

ERM is seeking a Principal Consultant, Environmental FERC Project Manager to lead natural gas, LNG, hydrogen, and other energy projects through permitting and compliance nationwide. This role requires prior consulting experience and deep FERC expertise to influence policy and help clients navigate complex regulatory landscapes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in a related field and 6+ years in environmental impact assessment for FERC-regulated projects.
• Prior consulting experience and FERC project expertise are essential.
• Deep knowledge of NEPA and major environmental regulations (CWA, NHPA, ESA).
• Proven ability to manage large, multi-site projects on time and within budget.

Responsibilities

• Lead permitting and compliance for FERC-regulated projects nationwide.
• Act as primary client contact and guide interdisciplinary teams through permitting phases.
• Oversee FERC applications and coordinate with agencies.
• Develop technical proposals and identify new business opportunities.
• Represent ERM in regulatory meetings and industry forums.
• Ensure quality control across environmental assessments and deliverables.
