Job summary

Attorney Adam Burke LLC in Columbus, Ohio, seeks a Senior Criminal Defense Trial Attorney (Felonies) for part-time work (20-30 hours per week). You will lead serious cases from intake through trial, argue suppression and evidentiary motions, and mentor junior lawyers with tech-enabled support to move matters quickly and effectively.

The role requires an active Ohio law license, 10+ years in felony criminal defense, and felony jury-trial experience to verdict.

Qualifications

• Active Ohio law license in good standing.
• 10+ years criminal defense experience focused on felonies.
• Felony jury-trial experience to verdict (first- or second-chair).
• Strong motions practice; excellent writing and oral advocacy.
• Reliable transportation for multi-county coverage.

Responsibilities

• Handle felony matters end-to-end: strategy, negotiations, motion practice, evidentiary hearings, jury trials, sentencing.
• Mentor associates and VAs; collaborate with the team; maintain excellent client communication.
• Appear in person across Central Ohio courts; manage schedules and deadlines independently.
• Utilize MyCase, Notion, Zoom/Teams, Slack, and AI-assisted discovery tools.
