Job summary

Orion Placement seeks an experienced family law attorney in Washington, DC to lead complex divorce, custody, and related matters. The role requires an active DC license and 3+ years of family law experience, with strong litigation skills and a client-focused approach.

You will manage cases end-to-end, draft pleadings, represent clients at hearings, and mentor junior attorneys while contributing to the growth of the practice in a collaborative, on-site environment.

Qualifications

• Active DC license to practice law.
• 3+ years of family law experience with litigation.
• Strong legal writing, negotiation, and courtroom skills.
• Ability to develop case strategies and deliver excellent client service.
• Leadership with interest in mentoring junior attorneys.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex family law cases including divorce, custody, child support, property division, and domestic violence matters.
• Manage caseload independently from intake to resolution.
• Draft and review pleadings, motions, and settlement agreements.
• Represent clients in hearings, trials, depositions, and mediations.
• Provide strategic advice and compassionate client service.
• Mentor and collaborate with junior attorneys and colleagues.
