Job summary

Good Shepherd Services in Bronx, NY seeks a Senior Fair Futures Coach to manage a reduced caseload of up to 10 youth while supporting the Fair Futures coaching team. This role mentors peers, contributes to staff development, and helps implement high-quality, youth-centered practices.

The position emphasizes leadership growth within direct service, collaboration across systems, and contributions to program materials and documentation. Hours are 35 per week, exempt.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with minimum 3 years of direct experience with at-risk youth or child welfare, preferably in coaching/case management.
• Minimum 2 years as a Fair Futures Coach or similar role in foster care/youth services is strongly preferred.
• Experience mentoring, peer leadership, or informal supervision of staff or volunteers.
• Proficiency with documentation in Connections and Care4; ability to interpret program data for practice.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a reduced caseload of up to 10 youth while fulfilling core Fair Futures Coach duties.
• Provide onboarding support to new Coaches in coordination with the Supervisor.
• Cover gaps in coaching when a position is vacant or staff are on leave.
• Provide peer consultation on complex cases involving high needs or multi-barrier situations.
• Assist Supervisor in identifying staff training needs and developing internal trainings.
• Model fidelity by reinforcing program expectations and quality standards.
• Maintain data quality and timely documentation in Connections and Care4.
• Assist with program needs and improvements to coaching practices and youth engagement.
• Support audits, program reporting, and quality reviews.

Hours: 35 Hours/Week; Exempt

Salary: $53,000-$58,000/annually

Job Summary:

The Senior Fair Futures Coach provides individualized, long-term coaching to a caseload of up to 10 young people while serving as a mentor and peer leader for the Fair Futures coaching team. In addition to fulfilling all core responsibilities of the Fair Futures Coach position, the Senior Coach supports staff development, promotes effective youth-engagement and coaching practices, assists with program implementation and documentation, and collaborates across systems to strengthen services and outcomes for young people. This position is ideal for an experienced coach who is ready to grow into a leadership capacity while remaining grounded in direct service.

Major Duties:

• Perform all core responsibilities of the Fair Futures Coach position while maintaining a reduced caseload of up to 10 young people at any given time.
• Provide structured onboarding support to newly hired Coaches in coordination with the Supervisor.
• Step in to provide coverage or continuity of support for youth when a Coach position is vacant or a colleague is on leave, as needed.
• Provide peer consultation on complex cases, including youth with high needs, system-involved challenges, or multi-barrier situations.
• Assist the Supervisor in identifying staff training needs and contribute to the development of internal team trainings.
• Model and promote fidelity by reinforcing program expectations, best practices, and quality standards among coaching staff.
• Serve as the coaching team’s point person for data quality and documentation, supporting peers in maintaining accurate and timely documentation in Connections and Care4.
• Assist the Supervisor in identifying program needs and recommending improvements to coaching practices, youth engagement strategies, and service delivery.
• Support the Supervisor in preparing for audits, program reporting, and quality assurance reviews.
• Contribute to the ongoing development and refinement of program materials, including curriculum, flyers, and youth-facing resources.
• Assist with the coordination and facilitation of workshops, peer groups, and PYA programming.
• Represent the coaching team in relevant internal and external meetings, as designated by the Supervisor.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree required with minimum 3 years of direct experience working with at-risk youth or youth involved in the child welfare system, preferably in a coaching, case management, or advocacy capacity.
• Minimum of 2 years as a Fair Futures Coach or in an equivalent role within a foster care or youth services program strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated experience in mentoring, peer leadership, or informal supervision of staff or volunteers.
• Proficiency in Connections and Care4 documentation systems required; comfort interpreting program data to inform practice.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to produce timely, professional documentation.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills; ability to manage a reduced caseload while fulfilling leadership responsibilities.
• Ability to facilitate peer groups and team trainings.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex situations and navigate systems with no clear-cut pathway.
• Ability to work autonomously and as part of a collaborative team.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Commitment to working from a strength-based, youth and family development perspective.
