Job summary

Amentum in Des Moines, IA is seeking a General Maintenance Technician IV to join our Facilities Maintenance team. You will handle day-to-day upkeep of the office building, respond to work orders, troubleshoot equipment, and perform preventive maintenance to keep operations safe and productive.

The role requires self-motivation, strong time management, and the ability to diagnose and repair building systems.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Four years of maintenance experience or equivalent.
• Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot industrial facility equipment.
• Experience with CMMS is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Conducts preventive maintenance inspections and actions.
• General repairs: patch drywall, paint walls, fix doors, replace ceiling tiles, repair office furniture.
• Plumbing maintenance: fix leaky faucets, clear clogged drains, service restroom fixtures.
• Electrical upkeep: replace light bulbs, change ballast, test emergency lights, fix minor wiring issues.
• HVAC support: change air filters and check heating/cooling units for normal operation.
• Safety compliance and coordination with vendors for major repairs.
