Job summary

Texas Children’s Hospital is seeking a Senior Facility Equipment Tech to perform preventive maintenance and repairs on biosafety cabinets, fume hoods, grossing stations, and animal transfer stations in a fast-paced hospital setting.

You will monitor and record the recertification of all equipment, pharmacy clean rooms and clean labs, and related HVAC systems as required by the AHJ, ensuring safety and regulatory compliance across the hospital network.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• 3 years of experience in bio-medical engineering or lab fume hood/safety cabinet service.
• Hospital experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs inspections, maintenance and repairs to lab and clean room ventilation equipment in conjunction with the applicable standards required for each location to provide a safe environment for hospital and research staff
• Performs repairs and coordinates re-certifications as needed to failed equipment according to established standards and within acceptable timeframes
• Demonstrates technical knowledge depth for hood ventilation, clean room and associated systems according to standards established by management team and AHJ
• Demonstrates work quality that consistently meets the customers’ needs and all applicable code requirements and creates a safe environment
• Ensures good rapport, effective communication, and cooperative, professional working relationships with internal and external customers
• Plans, organizes and coordinates projects
• Manages inventory following departmental inventory management and control parameters
