Job summary

Complete Building Services, a division of The Donohoe Companies, Inc., seeks a Chief Engineer for a Northwest Washington, DC facility. You will lead the onsite CBS workforce, ensuring safety, contract compliance, and efficient, high-quality building operations.

Responsibilities include diagnostic work on HVAC, electrical, and plumbing, managing maintenance schedules and budgets, and coordinating 24/7 emergency responses.

Qualifications

• CFC Universal certification required.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum ten years of experience in mechanical, electrical & plumbing systems.
• Experience with high-voltage electrical systems and emergency power.
• Proficiency with BMS and CMMS systems.
• Knowledge of local, state, and federal building codes.
• Strong leadership and training abilities.
• Ability to manage maintenance schedules and budgets.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Willingness for 24/7 emergency availability.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily building operations, assigning and inspecting work to ensure efficiency, safety, and quality.
• Perform diagnostics and repairs on building systems, including HVAC, electrical, and plumbing.
• Ensure proper functionality of high and low-voltage systems and equipment; inspect subordinates’ work.
• Promote and enforce safety practices for a secure environment.
• Ensure compliance with building codes and safety standards.
• Provide hands-on training for new employees in maintenance and repair of building systems.
• Schedule and oversee maintenance and repair projects.
• Price and estimate costs; process service requests or work orders.
• Review projects for compliance with building standards and client satisfaction.
