Job summary

National Gallery of Art is seeking an experienced facilities engineer to support the Department Head of Facilities Maintenance in maintaining and improving the Gallery’s architectural, civil, and structural systems. The role includes leading facilities programs, supervising staff, and ensuring compliant contract execution across related projects.

The incumbent will review procurement, bids, and contract modifications, coordinate with gallery departments, and promote safety and workforce

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• Experience leading facilities maintenance and repair programs.
• Background in contract administration and COR roles.

Responsibilities

• Provides professional engineering expertise for complex building, architectural, civil, and structural projects.
• Leads and supports the development and execution of the Gallery’s facilities programs.
• Serves as a COR and reviews contract performance, procurement, and bid processes.
• Provides leadership and supervision to staff and coordinates with other departments.
