Job summary

City of Hope is seeking an External Communications Director to shape and execute local external communications and public relations for the Los Angeles region and affiliated networks. You will craft messaging, stories and brand positioning with senior leadership input and coordinate with agencies to elevate the institution’s reputation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, or a related field.
• 8+ years in communications with healthcare experience preferred; including at least 3 years in health care arena.
• 3 years of experience in leadership roles.

Responsibilities

• Lead external communications and public relations strategy for assigned stakeholder groups.
• Direct messaging, executive visibility, thought leadership, publications and external positioning.
• Oversee annual and long-range planning, budget management and resource allocation for external comms.
• Direct integrated channel and media strategy across traditional, social and digital channels.
