Job summary

Robinson Helicopter Company is seeking an Experimental Flight Test Engineer to contribute to the development and certification of civil rotorcraft. You will join a small, nimble test team planning, executing, analyzing, and reporting on ground and flight tests of experimental rotorcraft and systems.

You will work with engineers to translate requirements into safe test plans and procedures, bringing complex aircraft from development through certification.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.
• 5+ years of experience as an experimental flight test engineer.
• Strong risk and safety management in flight test environments.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Team-oriented with ability to work with others.
• Willingness to travel to offsite locations.
• Self-starter with project management skills.
• Understanding of rotorcraft aerodynamics, performance and flying qualities.
• Working knowledge of aircraft systems and avionics testing per 14 CFR.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and engineering software tools.

Responsibilities

• Formulate experimental flight test requirements.
• Manage and conduct complex flight test projects for rotorcraft including test plans and flight test reports.
• Participate as a test crew member in development and research flight tests of experimental rotorcraft.
• Conduct flight test mission briefs and debriefs.
• Develop flight test instrumentation required to achieve objectives.
• Analyze flight test data to prepare reports and publications.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to plan and execute safe test programs.
• Ensure compliance with processes and safety standards during testing.
• Lead cross-functional design reviews and assist resolution of issues.
