Job summary

KEPR-TV is seeking a Morning Executive Producer to lead daily newsroom execution across platforms, overseeing the morning shift and implementing the News Director’s vision while actively producing the morning newscast.

This hands‑on role requires strong editorial judgment, experience in a newsroom leadership position, and the ability to guide a creative team through pacing, graphics, and live elements for both TV and digital audiences.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years in television news; leadership in a newsroom preferred.
• Excellent news judgement and understanding of viewer habits on all platforms.
• Strong editorial judgment, writing skills, and ability to showcase content visually.
• Calm under pressure, clear communication, and fast on your feet.
• Knowledge of newsroom systems like iNews and Avid.
• Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, or related field preferred; equal experience considered.
• A passion for news and a drive to win.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and mentor young journalists in the newsroom.

• Communicate effectively to ensure complete shift handoffs.

This person will be a hands‑on newsroom leader, helping oversee the morning shift, and carrying out the News Director’s vision, ensuring high‑quality, and impactful content on both linear and digital platforms. They will also be hands‑on, helping produce the morning newscast daily.

What You’ll Do

• Oversee editorial and logistical planning of the morning weekday newscasts

• Supervise and mentor young journalists in the newsroom

What You’ll Bring

The base salary compensation range for this role is $65K to $75K per year. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidate’s relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location. Full time positions are eligible for benefits that include participation in life and disability insurance, health, dental and vision plans, flexible spending accounts, vacation time, and floating holidays.
