Job summary

Archer is seeking an experienced aerospace engineer in San Jose, CA to perform low to high fidelity aerodynamic simulations for our all‑electric eVTOL aircraft. You will develop and validate models, analyze flight/test data, and feed results back into Archer’s simulation stack to guide design decisions.

Ideal candidates bring strong aerodynamics fundamentals, rotorcraft/tiltrotor experience, and proficiency in Python, Git, and HPC workflows.

Qualifications

• BS/MS/PhD in Aerospace Engineering or related field required.
• Strong fundamentals in fixed-wing and rotorcraft aerodynamics.
• Experience with eVTOL/multicopter aerodynamics and 6-DoF trimming.

Responsibilities

• Perform low/mid/high fidelity aerodynamic simulations of Archer eVTOL aircraft.
• Develop linear/non-linear aerodynamic models for flight envelope.
• Analyze experimental data to identify model errors and validate models.
• Develop methods to feed flight test data into simulation models.
• Contribute to Archer aerodynamic software stack and workflows.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams and pilots for modeling updates.
